Orthodontic Surgical Procedures

MARPE (Miniscrew-Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion)

For patients with a narrow upper jaw, MARPE offers a modern, minimally invasive approach to widening the palate. Using temporary anchorage devices (TADs), this technique allows many adolescents and adults to achieve skeletal expansion without the need for more extensive jaw surgery. MARPE can improve dental alignment, create additional space for crowded teeth, and may also enhance nasal airflow in appropriate patients.

Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs)

Temporary Anchorage Devices, or TADs, are small titanium screws that serve as stable anchors during orthodontic treatment. They allow orthodontists to move teeth with greater precision while minimizing unwanted movement of surrounding teeth. TAD placement is a quick, comfortable procedure performed in our office under local anesthesia, and the devices are easily removed once treatment is complete.

Expose and Bond Impacted Teeth

When a permanent tooth—most commonly a canine—fails to erupt naturally, an expose and bond procedure may be recommended. During this procedure, the oral surgeon gently uncovers the impacted tooth and securely attaches a small orthodontic bracket with a fine chain. Your orthodontist then uses this attachment to gradually guide the tooth into its proper position, preserving your natural tooth and helping achieve a healthy, functional bite.

Collaborative Care

We believe the best results come from teamwork. We work closely with your orthodontist throughout every stage of treatment to ensure seamless communication, efficient care, and exceptional outcomes. Our goal is to make every procedure as comfortable as possible while helping you achieve a healthy smile that lasts a lifetime.
